A Negaraku Berzikir programme themed ‘Empowering a Zikir Society’, was held to answer the call of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to make the country a Zikir nation.
The programme organised by the Religious Bureau of Youth Transformation Community Club (KKBT), was attended by Permanent Secretary (Youth) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Haji Zakaria bin Haji Serudin. KKBT Religious Bureau members Adib Zainul Zaky bin Haji Abdul Manaf and Haji Mohammad Ali Wafiuddin bin Haji Osman led a mass recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Surah Al-Fatihah, Surah Yaasiin and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam. A mass Sunnat Taubat prayers were also performed.
A religious talk on ‘The Priorities of Nisfu Sya’aban Night’ was also presented by Religious Affairs Officer at the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Mohammad Nasyith bin Superi.
This year’s event featured Ihya Malam Nisfu Sya’aban and Zikir and Selawat recitation. The first ceremony took place at the Kampong Mata-Mata Gadong Religious Hall recently.
Meanwhile, Zikir and Selawat will take place at the Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Mosque Kampong Sungai Akar on March 17 and the public is welcome to join the event.
The event is an annual project to enliven the National Day celebration and the month of Sya’aban with religious activities such as Al-Quran, Zikir and Selawat recitation.
It also prepares Muslims for the upcoming Ramadhan while providing a platform to strengthen ties among the youth.
