The University Mosque, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Committee members launched the ‘Strengthening Religious Education Tuition Class’ from Year 2 to 5 at the University Mosque in Jalan Tungku Link yesterday.
The head imam of University Mosque imam Abdul Muhaimin bin Dr Haji Serbini in his welcoming remarks said since the middle of last year, as the head imam of the University Mosque, “it has been our desire and determination to open a strengthening religious education class. The relevant parties have also agreed with our proposal to establish the tuition class. This is the first that such a programme has been introduced in the University Mosque, UBD”.
He added, “As the chair of this programme alongside the deputy chair who will be appointed in due course, we will continuously monitor and plan to improve the effectiveness of the programme for our children.”
“So far, the mosque has implemented religious activities targeting adults only, thus the existence of this programme will help instil love of the mosque in children.”
The tuition class is an additional class that aims to help students in increasing the value of Islamic religious knowledge in addition to enriching the mosque. The setting up of the tuition class also aimed to strengthen religious education besides empowering the jawi language among the younger generation.
