Embracing change for a better self

As the nation welcomes the Islamic New Year 1446 Hijrah on Saturday evening with the end-of-year and new-year Doa, imams in the Friday sermon called on Muslims to strive for self-improvement and positive change.

Muslims are urged to abandon actions that bring harm and lead to failure. The Hijrah celebration, observed annually, should inspire us to embrace positive changes in our daily lives, marked by sacrifices, sincere intentions, responsibility, and high spirits.

The Muslim Ummah is encouraged to leave behind wrongdoings and actions that lead to failure, drawing closer to Allah the Almighty.

Allah the Almighty will always support those who intend to make good changes in their lives, imams said.

Islam teaches us not to remain passive but to actively seek improvement. We are encouraged to be loyal to Allah the Almighty’s commandments, work diligently, plan wisely, and seize opportunities to contribute to the well-being and prosperity of the people and the nation.

Those who strive for betterment will see their ranks elevated, the sermon concluded. – AZLAN OTHMAN
