Embrace challenges, keep moving forward, students told

Success often lies beyond the comfort zone. Don’t be afraid to embrace challenges, learn from setbacks and keep moving forward, said Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Central Campus Principal Armi Durani bin Haji Durhman during the launch of the IBTE BC Family Carnival at the Lecture Theatre of IBTE Business Campus.

The carnival was part of the IBTE Pesta Konvo 2024, celebrating future graduates ahead of the 32nd IBTE Convocation Ceremony, scheduled for October 29 at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas.

Organised by IBTE Business Campus, the carnival recognised the achievements of upcoming graduates. Armi Durani highlighted the significance of the business project module, noting that it provided students with hands-on experience beyond the classroom, allowing them to build and manage their own businesses.

“The lessons learnt here extend beyond textbooks and provide skills benefiting students in their future careers,” he said. He added that the carnival serves as the centrepiece of this module, offering students a platform to showcase their hard work, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Armi Durani said by engaging with the community and applying classroom knowledge in a real-world setting, students gain practical experience in business planning, marketing, and social media outreach.

“This project is not just about grades – it’s about building confidence, developing problem-solving skills and cultivating a resilient entrepreneurial mindset,” the principal said, urging the participating students to believe in themselves, stay open to learning and take risks.

“This is your moment to shine, to demonstrate what you have learnt and to pursue your business dreams with passion and determination,” he added. The carnival from October 18 to 19 featured 48 vendors offering food, beverages, games and accessories.
