The Russian Embassy in Brunei Darussalam yesterday hosted a reception for members of the diplomatic corps and invited guests to commemorate the anniversary of the Russian-ASEAN Strategic Partnership at its premises.
Russian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Mikhail Vladimirovich Baranov, in a speech, said that under the comprehensive plan of action for the partnership, strategic avenues such as consultations on security issues and technology-related areas have been established, and among the notable collaborative efforts being the inaugural ASEAN-Russia Naval Exercise in 2021.
The strategic partnership, “solidified through decades of historical ties, has evolved into a multifaceted collaboration. From engagement to economic growth, science and cultural exchange, our relationship exemplifies a commitment to shared values and mutual benefits”.
The ambassador concluded, “As we navigate the complexities of the 21st Century, our joint efforts underscore a dedication to regional stability, peace and inclusive cooperation that respects the interests of all parties involved.” – Adib Noor
