After much anticipation the BYD ATTO 3 has arrived on Brunei shores, bringing pioneering electric vehicle (EV) technology developed for safety and efficiency to Bruneian consumers.
The latest brand of EV vehicles to enter the market was unveiled on Saturday at the Maju Motors Sdn Bhd Showroom.
The launch ceremony was officiated by Deputy Permanent Secretary (Transport) at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) Haji Mohammad Salihin bin Haji Aspar and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Ratna Wijaya Brigadier General (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Hasnan bin Pengiran Ahmad and witnessed by Maju Motors Managing Director Chan Key Hong and Executive Director Stanley Lim and BYD Singapore Managing Director James Ng.
The BYD ATTO 3 is the first C-SUV to utilise the ground-breaking e-Platform 3.0 bringing the latest in EV innovation to Bruneian customers. It was shared that the BYD ATTO 3 is inspired by ‘attosecond’, the smallest time scale unit in physics, signifying BYD ATTO 3 as speedy, energetic, and dynamic. It is the first SUV built on BYD’s e-platform 3.0, specially designed for high-performance EVs with four significant advantages: intelligence, efficiency, safety, and aesthetics.
One major highlight is BYD’s revolutionary Blade Battery technology which comes as standard in BYD ATTO 3, offering Bruneian drivers’ industry-leading safety levels. Launched by BYD in 2020, Blade Battery is the only battery that successfully passes the nail penetration test, the most rigorous way to test the thermal runaway of batteries. The Blade Battery has key advantages, such as a longer lifespan, better driving range, and most importantly, it is very safe, helping to resolve primary concerns in the market.
Other notable highlights includes, a Five-Star Rating in Euro NCAP Safety Tests. On 21 November 2022, the BYD ATTO 3 was awarded a Five-Star safety rating by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP). The BYD Blade Battery with a 480 kilometre range (WLTP combined) and DC Charging (SOC 30 to 80 per cent) in just 29 minutes.
BYD ATTO 3 is designed by BYD’s global renowned German Design Director Wolfgang Egger. The ATTO 3 adopts BYD’s Dragon Face 3.0 design language and features clean and precise lines, and an athletic posture where gym- and music-concepts inspired the interior design, exhibits passion, energy and power.
The BYD ATTO 3 is available to order in the Sultanate, with customer deliveries starting this month.
The first BYD Brunei flagship store is situated at Maju Motors, Jalan Telanai.
Maju Motors (Brunei) Sdn Bhd is the sole distributor of BYD vehicles in Brunei Darussalam and ATTO 3 is the first BYD model in the Sultanate. – Adib Noor
