Eight foreign workers were detained for violating immigration regulations when officers of the Law Enforcement Division of the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) conducted an operation at a café and restaurant in Mukim Gadong recently.
A male foreign worker believed to have committed an offence by working under a visitor’s pass was arrested at a café. Meanwhile at a restaurant in Mukim Gadong, seven foreign nationals were questioned and five detained to verify their passports and check the guarantee of their visit passes and related documents.
Meanwhile, two were detained, with one suspected of committing an offence of not working with the original employer.
Another was believed to have committed an offence for not working with the original employer and for working not according to the position stated in the passport. – Azlan Othman
