Eight members from the Brunei Darussalam Athletics Federation (BDAF) will compete in the 15th SEA Youth Athletics Championship 2023 in Pathum Thani, Bangkok, Thailand from December 7-9.
The team comprising a BDAF official, a coach and six athletes left the Sultanate for Thailand on Tuesday.
Ameer Jazli bin Azlan and Adam bin Burhan will compete in the 100 metres (m), Md Darwish Ikhwan bin Zulfadhli Hakimin in 200m, Mohammad Amirol Hakiem bin Yussal in 400m, Md Nurirfan bin Md Aarafah in 1500m and Abdullah Abbas bin Abdullah in 3000m.
BDAF Vice-President Haji Mohammad Azrin bin Haji Aji said, “We would like our athletes to trust their training, their coaches and their talents. We want them to try break their personal best records.”
The vice president handed over the Brunei national flag to the team. The association’s secretary general and other BDAF members were also present.
