Fifteen economics teachers from government secondary schools and a senior education officer from the Department of Schools at the Ministry of Education visited the Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) recently.
Corporate Communications Associate at the Managing Director’s Office of BDCB Rashidina Ariffin welcomed the delegation and briefed them on the central bank.
The delegation was also briefed on Brunei Darussalam Financial Sector Blueprint (2016-2025) by Corporate Planning and Development Senior Manager of the Managing Director’s Office of BDCB Mohammad Amsyar bin Alidin followed by an introduction to Brunei Darussalam’s monetary policy by Senior Manager of Economics, Research and Statistics at BDCB Siti Athirah binti Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali.
Secretary of Subject Based Committee (SBC) Economics from Sultan Sharif Ali Surianah binti Haji Junaidi Secondary School presented a certificate of appreciation and a souvenir to BDCB as well as a certificate of appreciation to Nur Ainina binti Haji Mosli from Katok Secondary School for organising the visit.
The visit was one of SBC’s economics’ professional development activities outlined in its action plan for 2023 and organised by Katok Secondary School, the Head of Professional Development Hub under SBC Economics.
The visit aimed to provide teachers with more information regarding Brunei’s monetary policies, as well as to address questions regarding the central bank’s roles and responsibilities in general.
