Easyway and D’Barkadz will contest in the final of the You-C1000 Basketball Cup 2023 after both emerged victorious from their respective semi-final matches at the Brunei Basketball Association (BBA) Court in Batu Bersurat on Wednesday.
Title contenders Easyway booked their ticket for tomorrow’s final after beating Propel 82-73 while D’Barkadz saw off SGTB 84-78 in the other last-four tie.
Jeremy Chu led the scoring for Easyway with 21 points while both Jake Chong and Jonathan Lim chipped in with 13 points each.
Propel’s Alvin Goh led his team’s scoring charts with a game-high of 34 points.
Meanwhile, D’Barkadz will appear in their first final appearance as Jomarie Corpuz made a 17-point run. Ernesto Espique made 13 points while Patrick Rubillar was the other player in double digits with 12 to his name.
Allen Salvador made 28 points for newcomers SGTB while his teammate Gerald Balaota scored 18 points.
Propel and SGTB will play for third place in the opening match tomorrow at 7pm before the title decider at 9pm at the same venue. – Fadhil Yunus & James Kon
