In a recent court hearing presided over by Senior Magistrate Harnita Zelda Skinner, permanent resident Rosleni bin Mahrop, 44, and local Aizuddin bin Haji Mat Salleh, 35, were further remanded to allow investigations to be completed.
The charge against both defendants is a holding charge.
The charge stems from an incident alleged to have occurred at 9pm on April 21, at a house in Kampong Dato Gandi, Jalan Kota Batu, where the duo is purported to have stolen a pair of shoes and a red light siren alarm.
According to the prosecutor Abdul Musawwir bin Haji Awang Mahli, both defendants face penalties that include imprisonment for a term extending up to seven years and a fine.
The remand decision was made to allow authorities to complete their investigations thoroughly. The defendants will remain in custody until the investigations are concluded, and further proceedings are determined by the court.
The next court date for this case is yet to be announced pending the completion of the investigations and the gathering of evidence by the prosecution. – Fadley Faisal
