Nine travel agents from Dubai, United Arab Emirates expressed admiration for Brunei’s rich natural heritage, particularly its pristine rainforests.
This unique feature sets Brunei apart from Dubai, where such lush environments are rare. As a result, Brunei’s natural beauty is a significant draw for travellers from the region.
Several agents confirmed upcoming group bookings from Dubai, with itineraries that include Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore. The positive feedback follows a recent familiarisation trip organised by the Tourism Development Department in collaboration with Royal Brunei Airlines.
The joint effort aims to promote the ‘Twin City Getaway to Borneo’, highlighting the complementary offerings of Brunei and Sarawak.
The itinerary for the familiarisation trip included Ulu Temburong National Park expedition, birdwatching and mangrove river excursions; city tour and a visit to the Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah; and water sports such as snorkeling.
The department also held a session with the Dubai agents to discuss potential collaborations. – James Kon
