DPMM FC will begin their campaign in the much-anticipated Singapore Premier League (SPL) 2024/2025 season away to Young Lions at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore on May 11.
This was confirmed after official fixtures for the league season was provisionally released by the organisers. The Gegar Gegar men will face reigning holders Albirex Niigata (S) on May 25 at the Jurong East Stadium before playing their first home match at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium against Lion City Sailors on June 15.
The new campaign will be followed with a match against Geylang International FC at home on June 22 before they travel to Jurong East against Tanjong Pagar United on June 29.
The Brunei-based club have undergone a change in personnel following the appointment of Portuguese head coach Rui Capela Batista, who succeeded Adrian Pennock. DPMM FC, which finished seventh last season, have been active in the transfer market following the recruitments of young Brazilian player Gabriel Gama, Portuguese Miguel Oliveira and Mexican Julian Cruz.
The 2019 league champions have also retained the services of goalkeeper Kristijan Naumovski and defender Farshad Noor. In preparing for the new season, DPMM FC will play Chinese side Guangxi Pingguo Haliao Guojing in a friendly match at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium on Saturday. – Fadhil Yunus
