DPMM FC secure fifth straight win after 12-1 rout

DPMM FC secured their fifth consecutive victory in the Brunei Super League 2024/2025 season following an emphatic 12-1 rout over Lun Bawang FC at the Jerudong Park Mini Stadium in Kampong Jerudong last night.

The hosts were in free-scoring mood from the start as Luis Matias Hernandez-Miruena opened the floodgates in the sixth minute.

Sergio Mendiguchia Iglesias continued his fine-scoring form to double his side’s lead in the 12th minute before Mohd Adrian Zikry Mohd Norkhairi made it 3-0.

Baktyiar Duishobekov got in the act in the 28th minute as Muhammad Razimie Ramli extended his side’s lead even further in the half and hour mark. Lun Bawang managed to pull one back through Abdul Halim bin Haji Jainih/Zaini in the 38th minute.

Sergio, who is among the leading scorers in the league, then scored four more goals to complete a five-goal performance with Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim also finding the net.

Marcelo Junior De Souza Loiola and Mohamad Azrin Danial bin Haji Mohamad Yusra also added their names in the score-sheet before Luis Matias compounded Lun Bawang’s misery with the final goal of the game a minute from time. – Fadhil Yunus
