DPMM FC rescue a point against Hougang United FC

DPMM FC rescued a point in the Singapore Premier League following a 1-1 draw with Hougang United FC at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas last night.

Young talent Hakeme Yazid bin Said underlined his threat after testing Hougang goalkeeper Kenji Syed Rusydi with a free-kick from distance. The hosts looked bright with glimpses of lively plays on the final third but lacked the end product epitomised by a good ball in the area by Farshad Noor left unattended.

However, the home side fell behind after Hougang forward Stjepan Plazonja scored the opening goal of the game in the 42nd minute.

The Gegar Gegar men replied through Nazirrudin Ismail whose shot went through the legs of Kenji on the 61st minute after a confident individual move.

With the home side in search of a winner, DPMM FC forward Miguel Oliveira was played through but could not keep his shot down.

The Brunei-based outfit will play Young Lions next on July 27.

The Gegar Gegar men also welcomed newly-appointed head coach Jamie McAllister, who succeeded Rui Capela Batista after the Portuguese left due to personal reasons. – Fadhil Yunus
