DPMM FC’s woes in the Singapore Premier League continued after falling to a 1-0 defeat to Tampines Rovers at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore yesterday.

Tampines Rovers forward Boris Kopitovic condemned the Gegar Gegar outfit into their seventh defeat of the campaign with his strike in the 54th minute.

The visiting forward Glenn Kwehh made an accidental back pass which put DPMM FC forward Andrei Varankou through on goal but defender Shuya Yamashita rushed out to make a decisive goal-saving block.

DPMM FC went a man short after defender Angel Martinez was sent off for the hosts for a second bookable offence.

Tampines midfielder Kyoga Nakamura found space to curl an effort but DPMM FC goalkeeper Haimie Anak Nyaring was equal to the task.

Faris Ramli came close with the visitors with his shot just wide the mark after a neat exchange with Kopitovic.

Kwehh also had the chance to make the breakthrough when Kopitovic chested the ball into his direction but Haimie managed to save the ball with his legs.

With Yasir Hanapi pulling the strings in midfield, he carved the Brunei defence open before Kopitovic completed the move with a good finish.

DPMM FC young star Hakeme Yazid Said nearly helped his side draw level after his free-kick brushed against the crossbar.
