DPMM FC lose to Geylang

Fadhil Yunus

DPMM FC endured a 3-1 loss at the hands of Geylang International in the Singapore Premier League at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore yesterday.

Geylang took an early lead through Naufal Azman in the fifth minute as the hosts conceded first again what turned out to be a difficult season.

The Eagles doubled their lead as Yushi Yamaya found the top corner with his spot-kick allowing DPMM FC goalkeeper no chance.

The Bruneians found hope in the tie when Azizi Ali Rahman halved the deficit in the 61st minute.

But Geylang restored their two-goal cushion just five minutes later through Yushi Yamaya with fellow goal-scorer Naufal Azman credited with an assist.

The result marked the Gegar Gegar men’s third defeat in four games since their return to Singapore’s top flight.
