DPMM FC II welcome Kenshin Ueno for Super League title charge

DPMM FC II strengthened the squad following the arrival of Japanese player Kenshin Ueno for the remainder of the Brunei Super League (BSL) 2024/2025 season.

The new acquisition arrives following a short spell with Lao League outfit Namtha United this season where he made seven appearances.

He scored his first goal in his professional career in the 2-0 win against Champasak United, firing into the roof of the net to kill the game off with a second goal. Kenshin said, “I’m delighted to announce that I’ll be transferring to DPMM FC II in Brunei Super League.”

He added, “I’m excited for this new challenge starting from January 2025. I’ll give everything for the team.”

The attacking midfielder has also previously played collegiate soccer for Colorado State University (CSU) Pueblo Men’s Soccer Team where he won the RMAC Tournament Championship in November last year.

Kenshin also spent his youth career with J1 League side Vissel Kobe for the Under-15s and Under-18s before making his move to the United States.

DPMM FC currently sits at the top of the table with a maximum of 27 points, two points ahead of defending champions Kasuka FC.

The Gegar Gegar, who are eying a first Brunei Super League title, have enjoyed the services of foreign imports Sergio Mendigutxia Iglesias, Marcelo Junior De Souza Loiola, Bakhtiyar Duyshobekov and Luis Matias Hernandez-Miruena.

Kenshin will fill the vacancy left by Bakhtiyar, who left the club earlier this month. – Fadhil Yunus
