DPMM FC down Guangxi 3-1 in pre-season friendly

DPMM FC kicked off with a strong pre-season preparations after beating Guangxi Pingguo Haliao Guojing Football Team 3-1 at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
 
Spectators saw goals from DPMM FC’s Azwan Ali Rahman, Miguel Oliveira and Gabriel Gama, while the visiting team secured a late goal in the 81st minute from Wang Jingbin.
 
The international friendly match against the Chinese League One outfit served as preparations ahead of the Singapore Premier League (SPL) 2024-2025 season, which begins next month.
 
Meanwhile, Guangxi Pingguo competes in the second tier of the Chinese league where they currently lie fourth.
 
The friendly match also marks the start of Rui Capela Batista’s reign as the newly-appointed head coach following a change in personnel. It also provided an opportunity to test their new foreign imports as well as fresh young talents which had come through the door during the pre-season.
 
As the new season nears, the local side will also take on the EPL Legends as part of imagine Football Fiesta on Tuesday. 
 
The Gegar Gegar men will also be joining the Selangor Asia Challenge (SAC) in an international tournament series alongside Malaysia Super League side Selangor FC, Singapore league rivals Balestier Khalsa FC and Laotian club Young Elephants FC at the end of the month. – Fadhil Yunus
