DPMM FC rediscovered the form that made them a potent force in the Singapore Premier League with a 3-0 victory over Hougang United at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore on Friday.

The much-needed result marks their second victory this season since their return to the Singapore top flight following a period of absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Brunei outfit collected their first points of the season after a come-from-behind victory over Tanjong Pagar last month.

Earlier in the game, Hougang wasted a chance to take the lead as Gabriel Quak was unable to capitalise on Angel Martinez Ortega’s misjudged attempt to control the ball, with his effort clearing the bar. DPMM young forward Hakeme Yazid bin Said beat the offside trap to fire home into the bottom corner in the 31st minute following a fine pickup by Josip Balic.

The exciting talent has been steadily enhancing his reputation as he continued his streak of being involved in attacking contributions this season in all of his matches played this season.

The designated visitors pulled further ahead as Yura Indera Putera Yunos marked his return from suspension with a stunning volley from range in the 48th minute.

Hougang captain Zulfahmi Arifin has proven to be a constant threat with his deliveries, but his target Sahil Suhaimi inadvertently dragged his shot wide.

The Gegar Gegar men sealed the win as Josip Balic powered home a fine strike after being teed up by Andrey Varankou.
