DPMM FC put on a complete team performance as they eased to a 3-0 victory against Albirex Niigata (S) in the Singapore Premier League (SPL) 2024/2025 at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas on Saturday night.
The result leaves the Gegar Gegar men just a single point behind sixth-placed as they step up their efforts for a strong finish in the second half of the season. The all-around display also means that they remain unbeaten against the White Swans this season with a record of four wins and a draw.
Foreign import Davis Ikaunieks continued his rich vein in form after bagging a brace in either side of the half with Hakeme Yazid Said also on the score-sheet.
The Latvian striker has now scored four goals in his last six league appearances after seeing a run without a goal in his first three games.
The Brunei-based outfit will now look to build in their momentum when they travel to Our Tampines Hub in Singapore to face Geylang International FC in April 29.
They are now unbeaten in their last four matches and have kept back-to-back clean sheets including a shutout against league leaders Lion City Sailors. – Fadhil Yunus
