Donations for underprivileged individuals, families

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim officiated the launch of the first edition of Menyantuni Masyarakat programme at the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) yesterday.

The ceremony presented 48 individuals with essential necessities, donated by Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB), Insuran Islam TAIB Holdings Sdn Bhd and Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd. Among the recipients were 15 converts under the Muallaf Development (Muallaf Welfare) programme at PDI.

Organised by the Projek Bina Bakti with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the event aimed to assist underprivileged individuals and families, including asnaf converts, single mothers and low-income households. The guest of honour presented donations to 24 recipients, while the remaining 24 received their donations from Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MoRA (Municipal and District) Haji Ahmad Nizam bin Dato Paduka Haji Ismail. Chairman of Muafakat Islam Federal Territory Labuan Dato Seri Shuib bin Nasir was also present at the event. PDI director, head of Muallaf Development Division, Projek Bina Bakti executive advisory members, PDI officers and guests including sponsors, attended the ceremony. – Lyna Mohamad
