Donations flow for the underprivileged

The Loan Service Thrift Shop, manned by volunteers comprising family of loan service British officers in the Sultanate, donated BND3,200 to the Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM) recently.

Representative from the Loan Service Thrift Shop Katie Cone said, “This is our second donation since we started volunteering and we have raised over BND6,200 during the past 18 months. We are pleased with this amount as we have faced many challenges running the shop during the COVID restrictions. We chose MKM as they do such great work in the community.”

The donation will be used to provide meals for underprivileged students under MKM’s school breakfast scheme.

Cone added, “We’ve been grateful for the opportunity to live and volunteer in Brunei and feel our work has enabled us to give a little back to those in need.”
