    Donations flow during Ramadhan

    Takaful Brunei Keluarga & TIBA Petrol Station Cooperative Association

    The Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) received zakat from Takaful Brunei Keluarga Sdn Bhd (TBK) and TIBA Petrol Station Cooperative (KOTIBA) yesterday. The presentation was held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA).

    Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, as the President of MUIB, received the contribution from TBK Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Haji Shahrildin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Utama Dato Paduka Haji Jaya who handed over BND24,777.64 collected from TBK’s clients.

    It was witnessed by TBK Deputy Chief Business Operations Officer Haji Mohd Maszaiwardy bin Haji Masri.

    Meanwhile, KOTIBA’s Chairman Haji Omar bin Haji Md Tahir handed over BND65,624.21.

    The zakat will be distributed to eligible recipients comprising the poor and the destitute, Muallaf, Amil, Al-Gharimin and Ibnu Sabil.

    MUIB was given the authority to manage the collection and distribution of zakat as stipulated in the Islamic Religious Council Act and Kadhi Courts, Chapter 77, Amendment 1984.

    Belait District Youth Association

    The Belait District Youth Association (PEMBELA), with support from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Royal Brunei Armed Forces’ (RBAF) Third Battalion and Belait District Office, organised several projects in Belait District.

    Tholabul ‘Ilmi 4.0 Project was held to collect furniture for students in rural areas. Mashhor Group of Companies contributed 100 tables and 86 chairs while logistics were provided by the RBAF.

    Mashhor’s Head of Business Development and Manager Haji Malai Ahmad Faris bin Dr Haji Malai Abdul Hamid handed over the furniture to PEMBELA President Atikah Rumaizah binti Dr Haji Awang Harun, before being distributed to families in Kampong Labi, Kampong Merangking, Kampong Sukang and Kampong Melilas.

    Mahabbah Ihsan 4.0 Project saw Amal Jariah Group contributing 500 cartons of bottled water to residents in Kampong Sukang and Kampong Melilas.

    Group head Datin Hajah Misnah binti Haji Md Daud presented the water to PEMBELA Vice President Muhd Noor Hazwan bin Abdul Rahman.

    Dynamik Technologies

    Dynamik Technologies in collaboration with Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA) and DARe (Darussalam Enterprise) organised a donation drive recently.

    Over 20 people took part in the distribution of cash and food to 16 underprivileged from Brunei-Muara and Temburong districts.

    The project was aimed at lessening the burden of the less fortunate during Ramadhan and ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities.
