The Ministry of Health (MoH) received breastfeeding nursing covers from the Women’s Institute of Brunei Darussalam (WI) during a ceremony at the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital in Tutong yesterday.
Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) at the MoH Dr Hajah Rafidah binti Haji Gharif was the guest of honour.
The deputy permanent secretary said the ministry welcomes and appreciates the donations, adding that it is not the first time that the institute contributed in supporting the practice of breastfeeding. The MoH supports the initiative carried out by WI for the well-being and healthcare of babies through breastfeeding.
WI Advisor Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Mohd Ali led the delegation and handed over the breastfeeding covers.
She said the institute lauds the good practice of breastfeeding adding proven benefits such as boosting immunity and improving bonding.
The breastfeeding nursing covers is a cloth that is simple, practical and easy to use.
It helps mothers breastfeed their children more comfortably in public places while maintaining their privacy. – Fadhil Yunus
