The Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Zakat, Waqaf and Baitulmal Management Department handed over zakat to victims of a house fire in Kampong Setia ‘B’ and house collapse in Kampong Peramu.
Acting Director of the Zakat, Waqaf and Baitulmal Management Department Pengiran Dr Haji Amiruddin bin Pengiran Haji Damit handed over the donations to 78 victims.
The total amount of zakat handed over was BND18,000. Each victim received BND200 with an additional BND100 for students.
A fire destroyed nine houses and another collapsed on May 11. – Azlan Othman
