Over the course of over a week, Minda Youth Movement (MYM) members set up shop in the Belait District Youth Centre as they conduct the Minda Prihatin donation drive project, ahead of the new school year.

Since December 16, the group has sought to consolidate the various donations and contributions by the public to help those in need, especially less fortunate students who are preparing to start the new academic year.

Project head Ilman Haziq bin Haji Abdullah said the donations include stationery, exercise books, white socks and school bags.

Ilman Haziq said the next phase in the donation drive is the handover of the donations to schools across Belait, with a focus on rural areas, to ensure students can start the new year with new school supplies.

“We hope that the project will help the students to be more enthusiastic about their studies, and to show that there are many of us who want to reach out and assist those in need.”

The donation drive is slated to run until until Sunday.
