The Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD) hosted an iftar and donation ceremony in the capital yesterday.
Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha and Chairman of the MPABD Board of Directors presented the donation.
The event began with welcoming remarks by Chief Executive of MPABD Captain (Rtd) Zil Husam bin Haji Abdul Rahman, followed by a recitation of Tahlil and Doa Arwah led by Haji Mohammad Ashraf bin Haji Bujang Yussop from the Brunei International Airport Surau.
This year, one orphan and 10 underprivileged families registered under the Community Development Department received the donations.
The event is marked as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts, aimed at easing the needs of orphans and the underprivileged. – Lyna Mohamad
