The first of a two-day blood drive kicked off at the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) in Kampong Pandan Library yesterday, as part of the 38th National Day celebration lined up by various ministries. The public is encouraged to step forward and support the campaign which continues from 9am to noon tomorrow.
The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) is organising the blood drive in collaboration with DBP, with support from the Blood Donation Centre of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.
In view of the COVID-19 outbreak and its accompanying standard operating procedures (SOPs), only fully vaccinated, and BruHealth green code holders are eligible to donate.
Campaign staff will be on hand to ensure blood donors adhere to the SOPs that include scanning the BruHealth QR code, wearing of face mask and practising social distancing.
Aside from helping replenish blood reserves, the event also highlights the importance of donating blood to save lives.
