Doa Selamat for RBAF peacekeepers

A Doa Selamat was held yesterday for members of the Independent Decommissioning Body Verification, Monitoring and Assistance Team 5/2023 (IDB VMAT 5/2023) at Surau Ad-Difa’, Bolkiah Garrison.

Present at the ceremony were Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof accompanied by Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan.

Acting permanent secretary, service commanders, deputy permanent secretary, directors, commandants, military and civilian senior officers, officers, and staff of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF also attended the ceremony.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Surah Al-Fatihah, Tedarus Al-Quran, Surah Yaasiin, and Asmaa Ul-Husna led by Captain Mohd Nasyrul Wafiy bin Haji Mahdini; followed by Tazkirah led by Captain Abdul Mu’iz Azizi bin Zulkifli. The contingent then received books titled Khutbah Perwira and Panduan Kembara Perajurit.

The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat to seek protection, a Sunnat Dhuha prayer and a group photo session.

The main function of IDB VMAT is to oversee the decommissioning process of the forces and weapons of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). The contingent, comprising three RBAF officers, is led by Commander Md Zouhdy bin Haji Abdul Razak.

The contingent will leave for Mindanao, The Philippines today.
