The Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) celebrated graduates of its 11th Convocation with a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony yesterday.
The ceremony expressed gratitude to Allah the Almighty for the graduates’ success.
A Khatam Al-Quran ceremony was also held in conjunction with the event, which commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) and guest of honour Haji Mohd Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim. It was followed with the recitation of Juzuk ‘Amma starting from Surah Ad-Dhuha up to Surah Al-Masad by the graduates and the recitation of Doa Khatam.
The ceremony saw the presentation of academic awards to 18 graduates, who excelled in their programmes.
On the same day, KUPU SB signed memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with Kolej International Graduate Studies (KIGS); and the Society for the Management of Autisim Related Issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER).
Ra’es Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar represented KUPU SB while KIGS was represented by CEO Dr Haji Azaharaini bin Haji Mohd Jamil for the signing. SMARTER was represented by its President Pengiran Zamri bin Pengiran Haji Bujang.
KUPU SB also signed an MoU with the Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA), represented by President Dato Paduka Haji Zainal bin Haji Momin.
The MoUs were also signed virtually with two foreign universities – Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara (UISU) represented by Rector Dr H Yanhar Jamaluddin and Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar (UINAM) represented by Professor H Hamdan.
Meanwhile, a memorandum of agreement was struck between Universitas Islam Negeri Malawarman (UINM) and KUPU SB, with KUPU SB Dean of Faculty of Education Dr Haji Roslan bin Haji Untong signing on behalf of the university-college while Dean of Faculty of Teaching and Education Knowledge Professor Dr HM Amir Masruhim for UINM.
