The Brunei Darussalam Arbitration Centre (BDAC) concluded its series of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) awareness roadshows for village heads yesterday at the residence of the Belait district officer.

The roadshows were part of BDAC’s initiative to raise awareness on ADR and its benefits across the country.

During the presentation, BDAC representatives provided in-depth insights into ADR mechanisms, outlining how mediation and arbitration offer expedient, cost-effective, and mutually agreeable solutions for various types of conflicts between two parties.

They emphasised the advantages of opting for ADR, including the preservation of relationships, confidentiality, flexibility, and tailored solutions that meet the specific needs of the parties involved.

The conclusion of the BDAC’s awareness roadshows in the Belait District marked a milestone in the outreach efforts to promote the adoption of peaceful and effective conflict resolution strategies among village heads and their communities.

Legislative Council members, acting district officers, assistant district officers and village heads participated in the roadshows, demonstrating their recognition of the significance of ADR in promoting peaceful and effective dispute resolution in their communities.

BDAC also provides facility rental and conducts training relating to mediation and arbitration.

With its modern facilities and a panel of experienced and certified mediators and arbitrators, BDAC continues to serve as a centre for fair, impartial, and timely dispute resolutions for individuals and businesses in the country.
