Seventeen families impacted by disasters received a combined total of BND30,350 in financial aid from the government during a ceremony at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports yesterday.
The families were impacted by fire, flooding, strong winds or had their homes collapsed or deemed unsafe for occupation, according to the Community Development Department (JAPEM).
Four families were affected by floods, six by fire, three from collapsed or condemned homes and four by strong winds.
No one was reported injured during the incidents, said JAPEM.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad handed over the financial aid to the family representatives. – James Kon
