The Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) held a Dikir Syarafil Anam to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) at Universiti Brunei Darussalam’s mosque on Thursday evening.
Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid was the guest of honour. Deputy Permanent Secretary (Trade and Industry) at the MoFE Mohammad Harris bin Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, department heads and officers from the ministry also attended.
The ceremony was organised by the Brunei Economic Development Board under the MoFE.
A similar event was held at the Ar-Rahman Mosque in Kampong Tanjong Bunut.
The ceremony began after Maghrib prayer and continued after Isyak prayer.
Doa Dikir was read by mosque bilal Muhammad Nabeel Min Fadhlillah bin Haji Abdul, while mosque imam Haji Asbinin bin Haji Zainal read Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Officers and staff from the Information Department, mosque takmir committee members and village committee members attended the event.
The religious gathering was held to instil love and affection towards Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), spread Islamic teachings and forge closer ties among workforce at ministries, departments, private sectors and residents. – James Kon & Azlan Othman
