The Ministry of Health (MoH) held a Dikir Maulud ceremony at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Mosque on Wednesday in conjunction with Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) birth anniversary celebration.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar attended the event.
Permanent Secretary at the MoH Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin, head of departments and senior officers and staff of the ministry were also present.
A similar event was also held by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and its departments at Zainab Mosque in Kampong Lumut, Belait District yesterday.
Deputy Minister (Civil Service Governance) at the PMO Dato Seri Paduka Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos attended as the guest of honour.
A waqaf handover by the guest of honour to Zainab Mosque representative was also held.
Heads of departments, officers and staff of the PMO and its departments were also present.
The ceremony was co-organised by the Pejabat Wawasan Brunei and the Manpower Planning and Employment Council Secretariat with the cooperation of Radio Television Brunei.
The PMO will next hold a Dikir Maulud at Batu Apoi Mosque, Temburong District on September 25.
A religious ceremony was also held by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) at Kampong Sungai Teraban Mosque in Belait District yesterday, joined by Deputy Permanent Secretary (Municipal and District) at the MoHA Abdul Walid bin Haji Matassan.
Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad, mukim penghulu, village heads, senior officers and staff from the MoHA were also present.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) continued its nightly Dikir Maulud to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) at Kampong Belais Mosque in the Temburong District on Wednesday.
Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Hardifadhillah bin Haji Mohd Salleh led the delegation from the ministry.
The MoRA will continue its Dikir Maulud at Zainab Mosque in Kampong Lumut, Belait District on September 26. – Azlan Othman, James Kon & Daniel Lim
