His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Deputy Sultan yesterday received in audience the ASEAN Ministers and heads of delegation attending the 12th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management (AMMDM).
The meeting is chaired by the Sultanate until today.
During the audience, His Royal Highness expressed appreciation for the presence of the ASEAN Ministers in Brunei Darussalam and for their commitment in enhancing ASEAN cooperation in strengthening the region’s disaster resilience and towards fostering a safer and more resilient ASEAN.
Leading the audience was Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, as the Chair of the 12th AMMDM.
ASEAN Deputy Secretary-General Nararya S Soeprapto and ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre) Executive Director Lee Yam Ming were also present.
The AMMDM serves as a platform for ASEAN member states to review and discuss the implementation of regional strategies and policies on disaster management, particularly in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in the region.
