Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan visited Kapok Primary School, Pengiran Isteri Hajjah Mariam Serasa Secondary School and Serasa Primary School yesterday.
The visit, a joint initiative of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) and the Ministry of Education (MoE), aimed at taking a closer look at the implementation of back-to-school activities, school infrastructure and facilities such as classrooms including preschool learning rooms, the canteen, the prayer hall and the ablution area following the amendment to the Compulsory Education Act (APW) that lowers the school age from six to five, the integration of religious subjects into the general education and the implementation of science, technology, engineering, arts and maths (STEAM) subjects.
Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim as well as other officials from the MoRA and the MoE were also present. – Azlan Othman
