Deputy Minister completes Singapore visit

Deputy Minister of Defence Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd Kadir completed an introductory visit to Singapore last Sunday.

On arrival at the Ministry of Defence Singapore, the Deputy Minister of Defence inspected the guard of honour comprising personnel of the Singapore Armed Forces.

It proceeded with a courtesy call to Singaporean Minister of Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to bolster defence ties and enhancing interactions and exchanges in areas of mutual interest through various bilateral and multilateral platforms towards regional peace and stability.

During the visit, Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak was conferred with Singapore’s prestigious military award, the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Tentera), in recognition of his contributions to enhancing the relations between the Royal Brunei Land Forces and the Singapore Army during his tenure as Commander of Royal Brunei Land Force.

As part of the visit, the Deputy Minister of Defence visited the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), Maritime Security and Response Vessels at Changi Naval Base, ST Engineering Hub, and Cybersecurity Operations, Sensing, Monitoring, and Investigation Centre (COSMIC).

The visit to Singapore underscored the robust and enduring defence ties between the Sultanate and Singapore.

Regular interactions through cooperation platforms, such as high-level defence and military visits, bilateral and multilateral exercises, professional exchanges, training and courses, have resulted in the close professional connections and camaraderie.
