The Department of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday released a statement on TotalEnergies Holdings International BV’s announcement on June 14 of its decision to sell its subsidiary in Brunei – TotalEnergies EP (Brunei) BV.
The statement said the decision was an outcome of the company’s optimisation of its global portfolio, adding that the Department of Energy, Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam and TotalEnergies EP (Brunei) BV are working closely with stakeholders during this transition to ensure current operation and activities progress safely.
The department said safety of the operations, welfare and job security of employees remain its top priority. – James Kon
