Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Datin Paduka Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman and Chief Executive of Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) Ir Haji Jailani bin Haji Buntar recently signed a specific collaborative agreement to provide a two-month leadership course for assistant managers, chief technical officers and senior technical officers of AITI.
The ceremony at the Seri Kerna Hall, AITI, saw Assistant Chief Executive of Corporate Services of AITI Asimah binti Haji Hassan and Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Services) and Chairperson of the UTB Executive Development Programme (EDP) Committee Dr Mohamad Saiful bin Haji Omar witnessing the event.
The leadership training programme aims to equip and nurture high-quality leaders in AITI with the knowledge and skills to adapt, overcome and capitalise on any opportunities and challenges.
AITI employees participating the programme are expected to fully utilise the skills gained, such as using strategic thinking to establish goals and objectives for their units, managing key functions to achieve organisational results, and sharpening their analytical skills to make well-informed decisions.
The collaborative agreement was established under the umbrella of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) that both AITI and UTB entered in January 2021. Other projects executed under the MoU include the initiative to showcase 5G use cases as well as the Brunei Darussalam ICT Survey for Individuals, Households and Businesses 2021.
