    Day two: Baiduri Masters heats up

    Day two of the Baiduri Masters saw nine new contenders put their name in the conversation for the Challenge Trophy and Green Jacket.

    Md Irwan Hamid knocked Bryan Chiew Chun Hao off his perch despite an improved second effort from the day one leader. The national golfers were split by a single stroke, both going under at 69 and 70 respectively.

    Compatriots Awangku Mohd Syakir Ali and Muhd Qawi Fakhri were a hair off the top two at 1-under and par. Completing the top six were Nujaimi bin Haji Jumat (1-over) and Pengiran Haji Ahmad Zaki Al Hakim bin Pengiran Haji Jambol (2-over).

    Champion of the 2016 Baiduri Masters Tony Haji Karim (4-over) sits 11th in the standings, while rounding off the top 12 were Zulhilmi bin Haji Rosli (3-over), Moksin Junaidi (3-over), Mohd Abd Wafiy bin Yacob (3-over), Suhaimi Ibrahim (4-over) and Haji Shahminan Haji Damit (4-over).

    Participants are vying for the new Challenge Trophy and the coveted Green Jacket. The hole-in-one prizes include a BMW iX3 on hole 16, Mini Cooper 3 Door Brick Lane Edition on hole 9 or BND20,000 on holes 7 and 13.
