Day to remember for Institut Tahfiz graduates

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office attended the 9th Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (ITQSHHB) Haflut Takharruj (convocation ceremony) at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas yesterday.

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah was accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik.

Their Royal Highnesses were greeted upon arrival by Minister of Religious Affairs cum Patron of the 9th Haflut Takharruj Executive Committee Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, State Mufti cum Executive Committee Adviser Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs cum Executive Committee Chairman Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, as well as the executive committee and working committee members of the 9th Haflut Takharruj.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Verses 22 to 36 of Surah Al-Mutaffifin by Auni Marzuqi bin Haji Anuar, followed by the interpretation of the verses read by Muhammad Ekram’ Afif bin Haji Mohd Hanafi.

Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin expressed hopes that the graduates would make the most of their knowledge and memorising skills.

“Take advantage of the tazkirah reminders and Al-Quran teachings. Have them serve as a motivator and a guide for the coming generations to build and develop the country,” he said.

Following a sabda, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah presented the ‘Aliyah Qira’at Diploma certificates to 20 graduates, 10 of whom graduated with a mumtaz (excellent), eight with jayyid jiddan (very good) and two with jayyid (good).

The awarding of ‘Aliyah Qira’at Diploma to ITQSHHB graduates serves to acknowledge their achievements and success, particularly in the fields of Al-Quran memorisation and Qira’at knowledge.

The event concluded with a Doa Selamat read by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.
