The tournament organisers confirmed the participation of 112 teams, including 96 local teams and 16 from overseas, mainly from Sabah and Sarawak, Malaysia.

The winners will receive a BND5,000 cash prize, which is the most awarded in the region, along with a trophy and medal. The runners-up will walk away with a BND3,000 cash prize, a trophy and medal, while joint third place will be presented with a BND1,000 cash prize as well as a trophy and medal. “We wish the local team the best of luck with good sportsmanship and we hope this tournament will be an opportunity for the teams to raise the quality of the sport in the country,” said the Tutong District Office in a statement.

The office added the possibility of holding the event annually as one of the biggest events in the Sultanate if it runs smoothly with the support of all parties. – Fadhil Yunus
