The Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA) yesterday received a total of BND75,381 from three donors during a ceremony at the multipurpose hall of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex. Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, as the chairman of the DANA Board of Trustees, received the contributions.
The largest donation came from the Fuzhou Shiyyi Association of Brunei Darussalam, with 92 members contributing BND72,751.
Fuzhou Shiyyi Association of Brunei Darussalam President Dr Andy Lau Sie Chuong and founding president Jackson Ting handed the mock cheque to DANA.
Meanwhile, Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College handed over BND1,460 in donation. The college’s Deputy Principal Dayangku Zalina binti Pengiran Haji Aliuddin presented the donation during the ceremony.
The third donation came from the Sultan’s Scholar Alumni.
The group’s vice president Hajah Hafizah binti Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Nor presented a cheque for BND1,170.
Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the Ministry of Development Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, as the acting chief executive officer of DANA, witnessed the ceremony. – James Kon
