    Cyber security agency receives visitors

The Cyber Security Brunei (CSB) received over 30 visitors from Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre to its National Digital Forensic Laboratory (NDFL) recently.

The visitors, comprising Computer Science students, were led by Head of the Computer Science Department Shahrifah binti Haji Mohd Shahlan and Principal Tuty Hyrneeita binti Haji Abdul Latip.

The visitors were briefed by Security Analyst Nomi Hafiz Zakiah binti Haji Pawi on CSB and the roles of Cyber Watch Centre and Brunei Computer Emergency Response Team (BruCERT). The students also learnt about incidents reported to BruCERT such as infected computers, online impersonation, phishing and cyberbullying.

Digital Forensic Analyst Abdul Qadir Al Aziz Zaidi and Abdul Muiz bin Haji Omarali gave presentations on the roles of NDFL.

Following the briefings, the visitors toured the NDFL where they learnt about tools used by digital forensic analysts to work on electronic evidence.

The students also witnessed how evidence is collected and how to degauss and dispose of a hard disk as part of the lab’s data sanitisation process.
