Crown Prince visits exhibition, meets heads of corporations in Malaysia

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman visited the Raja Kita Exhibition, held at the Department of Museums Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.

According to a press release, Their Royal Highnesses were accompanied by Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Muhammad Aiman; and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Faathimah Az-Zahraa’ Raihaanul Bolkiah.

On arrival, Their Royal Highnesses were greeted by Deputy Minister of National Unity Senator Saraswathy A/P Kandasami, and Director-General of the Department of Museums Malaysia Datuk Kamarul Baharin bin A. Kasim.

During the visit, Their Royal Highnesses were briefed by the Director-General of the Department of Museums Malaysia and Curator of the Royal Abu Bakar Museum on the Raja Kita Exhibition which is being held in conjunction with the Coronation Ceremony of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Iskandar, the King of Malaysia that took place on July 20.

The exhibition brings together 272 collections, among others, the state crown and crown jewels worn during the coronation ceremony of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim as the fifth Sultan and Sovereign Ruler of the State and Territory of Johor Darul Ta’zim and Her Royal Highness Raja Zarith Sofia binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Al Mutawakkil Alallahi Shah as the Permaisuri of Johor on March 23, 2015; the Federal Regalia; and personal collections that highlight the passion and interest of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah.

The exhibition is an initiative to uphold the Institution of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong within the system of Parliamentary Democracy and the Concept of a Constitutional King, so that it will continue to be preserved as a symbol of sovereignty that protects Malaysian citizens.

In the afternoon, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah met with Heads of Malaysian Multinational Corporations at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur.

During the meeting, His Royal Highness welcomed the Malaysian Multinational Corporations to explore opportunities in new areas of cooperation that are of mutual interest, including developing placement programmes for Bruneian students and educators in these corporations towards enhancing their experience and skills in the country’s priority areas particularly in supporting economic diversification and towards achieving goals under the Brunei Vision 2035.

The corporations, comprising various sectors such as energy, health and finance, are Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Maybank, KPJ Healthcare Berhad, Pharmaniaga Berhad, Khazanah Nasional Berhad, and DRB-HICOM Berhad.

Also present were representatives from the Government of Malaysia namely the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Ministry of Higher Education.

Following the meeting, a high tea reception was held, whereby His Royal Highness had the opportunity to meet and greet the Heads of Malaysian Multinational Corporations present.
