“Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), a prominent engineering and technology university, plays a pivotal role in realising Brunei’s Wawasan 2035 and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), His Royal Highness Prince Dr Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Pro Chancellor of UTB said.
HRH the Crown Prince made the sabda at the opening of the UTB Science, Technology and Engineering (UTB-STE) Connect 2023 event at International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas on Tuesday.
HRH the Crown Prince expressed satisfaction in the consolidation of several conferences into one platform, which received immense support from both local and international delegates.
Over its 15-year journey, UTB has achieved significant milestones, expanding from Engineering, Business, and Computing disciplines in 2008 to encompass Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Design, and Communication. HRH the Crown Prince anticipates UTB’s growth and its aspiration to enter the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
HRH the Crown Prince commends UTB for its progress in research and innovation through collaborations with renowned universities and industry leaders. The Crown Prince’s Creative, Innovative Product and Technological Advancement Award (CIPTA Award) is an initiative aimed at fostering a wider STEM research community.
Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) has officially launched UTB-STE Connect 2023, a biennial congress co-organised with Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), and Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). This congress, themed ‘Research and Application for a Better World,’ brings together academia, science, research, engineering, industry, and stakeholders to exchange ideas and advance their respective fields.”
