His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman arrived at the Subang Air Base in Malaysia for an official visit until August 21.
Accompanying Their Royal Highnesses were Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Muhammad Aiman and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Faathimah Az-Zahraa’ Raihaanul Bolkiah.
Upon arrival at Subang Air Base, Their Royal Highnesses were greeted by Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohammad bin Haji Hasan and spouse, Raja Datin Seri Dato’ Salbiah binti Tengku Nujumudin.
Their Royal Highnesses then proceeded to walk past the static guard mounted by members of the Royal Ranger Regiment, Malaysian Army.
Also present to welcome the arrival of Their Royal Highnesses was High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud bin Haji Saidin @ Haji Md Saidin.
The visit is on the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Their Royal Highnesses are expected to attend meetings and a luncheon hosted by the Malaysian prime minister and spouse Dato’ Seri Dr Wan Azizah Dr Wan Ismail. His Royal Highness is also expected to have an audience and attend a luncheon with His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia.
The official visit reflects the close and longstanding friendship between Brunei and Malaysia, marking its 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between them. The strong cooperation includes areas of mutual interest such as trade and investment; defence; education; and health.
Earlier, prior to Their Royal Highnesses’ departure, a doa selamat was recited by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.
Present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar to bid farewell to Their Royal Highnesses was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik.
Also present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar to bid farewell were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria; Cabinet ministers; members of the Privy Council; the Commissioner of Police, Royal Brunei Police Force; the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces; permanent secretaries from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Education; and spouses.
