His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, as Chairman of Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sdn Bhd (BSM) Board of Directors, graced The Chairman’s Award event at Indera Samudra Grand Hall, The Empire Brunei yesterday.
The event celebrated the commitment, excellence, and contributions of BSM business partners in addressing the nation’s mobility needs and expectations for their everyday journey.
The awards recognised performance in HSSE, business growth and operational excellence in marketing, corporate social responsibility and customer service.
In his opening address, BSM Managing Director Muhammad Norshafiee bin Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil said, “BSM has worked closely with business partners to ensure the community is served to the highest standards.
“This partnership has forged a network that will enable us to continue and provide mobility solutions for our customers.”
His Royal Highness presented 11 awards to BSM business partners in categories such as retail, the Shell Master Mechanics Programme, and commercial business.
The winners of the Shell Master Mechanics Programme were Denson Alvarez Panopio for the general mechanics category and Muhammad Hadif H Hamizan bin Saini for the IBTE category.
They earned the title of ‘Star Master Mechanic of Brunei Darussalam’ and won an all-expenses-paid trip to the MotoGP in Sepang, Kuala Lumpur this month and a BND3,000 cash prize.
The award for most improved retail operational performance went to Syarikat Pump Minyak Mabohai and IBA Petrol Station Sdn Bhd was presented with the best retail operational excellence award.
Meanwhile, the best retail service champion went to Mohammad Khairul Ridzuan bin Sahari from Mar’azmala Retail Station, best RTC driver award to Muhd Aiman bin Abdul Rahman Suge, while best LPG operational excellence award was presented to Overseas Agency Company Sdn Bhd.
Under the commercial business category, the best sales performance award went to NBT (Brunei) Sdn Bhd, Setia Motors Sdn Bhd and Grand Auto Sdn Bhd.
The best commercial operational excellence award went to Boustead Sdn Bhd, while the best corporate social responsibility award went to NBT (Brunei) Sdn Bhd. QAF Brunei Sdn Bhd received special mention.
Boustead Sdn Bhd won the best marketing award (best customer excellence marketing) while the best marketing award (best digital marketing initiative) went to NBT (Brunei) Sdn Bhd.
The ceremony also saw a pesambah presented to His Royal Highness by Acting Minister of Finance and Economy II Pengiran Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Zety Sufina binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sani in her capacity as a member of BSM Board of Directors, with BSM managing director. – James Kon
