His Royal Highness Prince (Dr) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) attended the afternoon session of the 34th UBD Convocation Ceremony for 296 Masters and 11 Diploma graduates yesterday.
His Royal Highness was welcomed at the UBD Chancellor Hall by Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh and UBD Vice-Chancellor Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle.
The afternoon session began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, followed by the procession of the Pro-Chancellor into the Chancellor Hall led by the mace-bearer holding aloft the Mushaf Al-Quran.
Following the singing of the national anthem, His Royal Highness delivered a sabda to mark the presentation of certificates.
His Royal Highness presented certificates to Master’s Degree graduates of various disciplines, namely Master of Government, Master of Science in Engineering, Master of Health Science, Master of Medicine, Master of Public Health, Master of Defence and Safety Studies, Master of Arts (Brunei Studies, Art, English Literature, Environmental Studies and History), Master of Science (Energy Studies, Material Science, Applied Physics, Biodiversity, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemical, Computer Science, Geosciences, Mathematics and Petroleum Geosciences), Master of Engineering (System Engineering and Chemical Engineering), Master of Applied Economics, Master of Economy, Master of Business Administration, Master of Islamic Finance, Master of Logistics, Master of Counselling, Master of Education, Master of Teaching, as well as Diploma in Teaching.
Prior to the closing of the 34th UBD Convocation Ceremony, Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim read the Doa Selamat, followed by the proclamation of the completion of the convocation ceremony by the UBD Vice-Chancellor.
